If you live in the Seattle area and have a few hours free on Sunday, come celebrate Mother’s Day at Magnuson Park. Local pruning gurus Plant Amnesty are putting on a Festival of Trees, an extravaganza of all things arboreal.

Classes on tree selection, planting, and stewardship by gardening luminaries like Ciscoe Morris and Linda Chalker-Scott will go on all day, plus there will be music, juggling, a parade, and plenty of folks dressed as their favorite tree.

Sunday, May 10th 10am – 4pm
at Sandpoint Magnuson Park
7400 Sandpoint Way NE, Seattle

And best of all, it’s totally FREE! For more info, click here.

We’ll be there for sure, since I can’t think of a better way to spend “my” day, and also my daughter can’t wait to check out the tree-climbing activity. “Safe and supervised,” hm.

Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Awesome picture! And sounds like an awesome event. We’ve never been, so perhaps the family will want to attend after we chow down on a ‘sumptuous’ Mother’s Day brunch :). I hear the weather is supposed to cooperate and be perfectly beautiful. Hooray and
    Happy Mother’s Day!

Enjoy the day at the park, and Happy Mother’s Day to you. 🙂

Sounds like a great way to spend Mothers Day. I had to laugh at the special scheduled, supervised tree-climbing activity! At least they’re allowing it. So many parks now seem to be posting “No Tree Climbing” signs. Have a good one, Karen! (what tree are you dressing up as? )
