Gardening where the sidewalk ends

What is SAGBUTT? February 24, 2010

SAGBUTT – Seattle Garden Bloggers United to Talk – was founded with this joke acronym in February of 2009 and the name has stuck.

We are a loosely organized group of garden bloggers who have found getting together in person to be fun and rewarding. So far, we have met at libraries, public gardens, and some members’ homes for seed and plant swaps, good food and excellent conversation.

We keep in touch via a listserv – to be added, email melanthiap@gmail.com and ask to join the SAGBUTT Google group. There aren’t very many emails – usually just a few to set up meetings or let people know of an upcoming plant sale or other garden-related event.

New members are always welcome! Please consider joining us if you are so inclined. It’s a pretty great group of folks.

If you are curious to see something of past meetings, you can click on “sagbutt” in the tag cloud located on the Greenwalks home page’s sidebar.

Details of our next meeting:

When: Sunday, March 28, 1-4pm
Where: Bellevue Botanical Garden – Meet at covered pavillion at entrance to woodland area
BBG web site, for directions, etc. : http://www.bellevuebotanical.org/

(If the weather is horrible or the pavillion is already occupied, we may adjourn to a close-by coffee shop.)

I’d love to live close enough to participate! Unfortunately, Portland is a bit far for a Saturday morning jaunt.

I just stumbled on your blog – I live in Portland – but I will send the link to my friend in the Seattle Green Lake area. The pictures are wonderful. I hope you are still gardening!
